I have owned an E4200 v1 for a couple years and after trailing out DD-WRT and Tomato, I would say that Tomato is the way to go for E4200 v1. E4200 V2 is not supported so I cannot speak for it. I know that DD-WRT for E4200 is a WIP and has major issues including non-functional SSH on latest build among several other issues. The DD-WRT build I currently recommend for this router is 27490(by BrainSlayer). Optimizing DD-WRT on the Linksys E4200 v1. I would like to configure the cisco Linksys e1000 as a bridge so that I can connect through it to internet when I am in the first floor.
